  This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -  

   

  Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers

  try downloading and installing them from here - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=21730

   

  (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

   

  Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

  Hi Noel, 

  Thanks for the quick reply.  I've downloaded the iata_enu.exe file but when I try installing, I receive the following error:  "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."

  How should I proceed?

  OK - that happens, as the drivers are not particularlywell-differentiated.

  Try this set instead...

  Good evening, 

  I tried the second location and file download but received the same result; installation did not occur because my system doesn't meet minimum requirements.  I hope you have another option for me and that the 3rd time is the charm? :)  Thank you so much for for advising me..

  Update:  I saw in another somewhat similar thread around the Not Genuine Windows issue the suggestion to run CHKDSK and SFC and then run the MGAD report again, so I did that tonight and have the following updated diagnostic report:

  Please do me a favour, and upload your CBS.log file to your SkyDrive or other favoured fileshare - I'd like to take a look and see if I can work out what caused it.

  I suggest that you also confirm the result by validating at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate using Internet Explorer.

  Hello,

  Yes I think that did it!  After running CHKDSK and then the SFC, I rebooted a couple more times, and then tried Windows Update (which had been failing since last weekend) and it worked as well - my computer finally applied the 12 updates it had been failing at while I was experiencing the "Windows not genuine" issue.

  I've also used Revo Uninstaller to remove several programs, including Chrome and all plugins, and Microsoft Silverlight.  I rebooted again, and then reinstalled Chrome and went to Netflix and was able to successfully install Silverlight and now I'm finally back to streaming my Netflix subscription - so whew (I feel spoiled for not having a greater need from this machine...:)).

  Regarding the CBS.log -- I don't have a fileshare but I'd be willing to follow a process of your choosing to get it to you, I'd love to know what started the mess, too.  Thank you again for your help - it was your advice I was following in others' threads, as well - you're a great resource for those of us who aren't technical. :)
