Non-Valid Windows 7 after uninstalling Avast! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just uninstalled Avast! from my computer and upon restarting, I was greeted with a message saying that my copy of windows wasn't valid. I know that my copy is from my school MSDNAA account, and I can provide all the necessary information. Also, I have been running this liscense for a little over a year now. I do not know how to do the diagnostic that others have posted. If someone can tell me how to do so, I will post the relevant information.

  • First, do a system restore to before you uninstalled Avast and see if you still get the message.  You can download the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool here
