upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I do an upgrade from Windows 7 Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate, will I be required to do a backup of all files (my docs, Microsoft Ofice Pro), and applications (audio, pre-loaded stuuff on computer). I purchased an HP with pre-loaded software, so I do not have a Windows 7 Premium disc, just the 3 DVDs I created at initial start-up for recovery. I am upgrading to the Ultimate version so I can create some virtualization computers in order to do labs & test scenarios in my 70-680 Self-Paced Trng Kit.

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • Hi!

As far as I know, you can update from Premium to ultimate without loosing any data. But I don't know if you have to reinstall / repair programs.

But this forum is the training and certification forum. I am quite sure, that you can find much more specialists in the Windows 7 Technet forums!

    With kind regards,
