Windows 7 Suddenly "Not genuine" Build 7600 RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I have a Toshiba Satellite T135-S1310 I bought in Dec. of 2009. I had Windows 7 preloaded. It was repaired by Toshiba twice in March 2010 (the motherboard was replaced each time). A few hours ago my desktop went black and in the lower right corner it says "Windows 7 , Build 7600, This copy of Windows is not valid." What happened, and how can it be fixed?

  • Hello Epistropheus,

It is unclear why your Windows is showing as Non-genuine.  The only thing I see in your Diagnostic Report is the Licensing Data section is showing an odd error that I have not seen very much.

The first thing I recommend is going to http://microsoft.com/genuine and click the Validate Windows section. Did it Validate as Genuine or Non-genuine?

-If it validated as Genuine, are you now still seeing the Non-genuine messaging in Windows?

-Ifit Validated as Non-Genuine, what was the full error message that the validation site gave you?

    Thank you,

    Darin MS
