Retrieve Fetchxml from a Report RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All -

    I have a report created using the out of the box feature of CRM 2011 (no custom fetchxml, no t-sql). Is there a way to extract the FetchXML from an OOB report, the same way we can extract it from an advanced find?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Eric,
    you can download the RDL file of the report and opens it using BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio).
    Inside you will find the datasets and you can see the their queries, depending on the report you can find the fetchxml or the t-sql code.

  • Hi Guido - perfect, thanks that worked!

    1. Select Report-->Edit-->Actions-->Download Report.

    2. Load report in BIDS (or VS with MS Dynamics CRM Fetch data connector installed).

    3. View-->Report Data explorer-->Under Datasets, right click DSMain-->Dataset Properties.

    4. FetchXML displayed in the Query window.
