manually playing a tour RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am interested in manually running through a tour for a talk.  If I run through the slides using the left and right arrow keys on my laptop, WWT will jump from one slide position to the next.  Is there a way for WWT to segue from one part of the sky to the next smoothly instead of instantaneously?  I could pre-program the start and end slide timings but that would negate the spontaneity of a live presentation.

  • You could set a pattern of slides with very long timeouts (thus needing a right arrow to move to the next slide) followed by slides that make the transition to the next spot on the sky in a beautiful way. Thus the long timeout slides give you a chance to talk, and move around a bit yourself, but then when you hit the arrow for next you will start the transition to the next object.

  • Thanks, Jonathan!  That's exactly what I needed.  I hadn't quite figured out that I had to define the Start and End Slide markers, but doing that makes it all work.
