Always disclose your OS when you want help for one thing. ; }
E.g. if W7 try using its Troubleshooters for IE and see what they say/do?
In general, if you have removed IE9 you should have gone back to the original IE support. If IE was not your default browser when you installed IE9 you may have gone back to an incompletely registered IE. Try re-registering IE as your default
browser, e.g. using Default Programs, Set program access and... Note that you must go through the whole set of steps to do a re-registration, e.g. just checking that IE appeared to be your default browser would not do anything different. Also,
it may help to elevate the Control Panel that you are doing that from.
