WHS Connector Connects to WHS Desktop RRS feed

  • Question

  • So, odd one here.  When I open the WHS Connector program on my client PCs, the program cogitates forever and then opens the desktop of the server not the WHS Connector main box.

    Any thoughts on a problem/remedy?

    Thx.

Is this a new installation?  Has it always done this?  If not, did you recently install any add-ins or apps?

  • No, this isn't a new install and it had been working fine for some time.  The most recent Addins I've installed are the My Moves, Auto Exit 2008 and Tivo add-ins.

    Thoughts?

    Thx.

  • Hi John,
the WHS console sits on top of a remote desktop session.
So if you see the WHS desktop, maybe the WHS console crashed or could not be loaded. Or you changed the configuration in a way, that Explorer is loaded instead of connector.
Can you login locally to your WHS and check, if you can start the console from it's start menu?
    Best greetings from Germany

I had a couple little quirks with the MyMovies add-in when I installed it on my WHS VM (although nothing like what you had).  FYI, MyMovies for WHS is pre-release software at this point and is not recommended for use in a normal usage environment.  Perhaps that add-in is causing your problem.
