Creating a new blog using Live Writer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Windows Live account and want to add a blog to my website.  I downloaded Windows Live Writer and went through these steps:

    <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:536871559 0 0 0 415 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} -->

    Configure Windows Live Writer – hit NEXT

    Selected: I don’t have a blog; create one on Windows Live for me – hit NEXT

    Sign in with your Windows Live ID

    Entered Windows Live ID and password – hit NEXT

    Select blog type

    Windows Live Writer was not able to automatically detect your blog settings.  Please select the type of blog that you are using to continue.

    Type of blog that you are using:

    How can I select one of these options from the drop-down menu when I don’t have a blog yet?!

    Remote posting URL for your blog:

    I don’t have a blog yet, so I have no URL!

    I thought Live Writer was supposed to set up a new blog for me, but that last setup menu assumed that I already have a blog.  I need help to get this blog set up.  Thank you.
