ACT -> CRM Migration costs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I was wondering if any of you could give me an idea of how much a data migration consultancy would typically charge to move some 6,000 records from ACT 6 to Microsoft CRM within 2 months?

  • Find a prices for the CRM contractor: http://www.itjobswatch.co.uk/contracts/uk/dynamics%20crm.do

If there are in total 6000 records I'm sure that it can be done quicker if you will dedicated tools which have already prepared Data Map to do it.

  • It really depends what data you want to transfer, for example if you just want to transfer all contact and company information and you're not bothered about the activities, histories and attachments then the process will be reasonably straightforward.  If you want to transfer everything then you are looking at using the DMM (Data Migration Manager) or some other tool to do this and, depending on the state of the ACT! data (eg. does it have any duplicates? do the picklist entries contain junk? How customised is it?) and if the custom fields and picklists in CRM match those in ACT! then it would take about a week to do - so approximately 5-7 days consultancy.
