Reinstall problems RRS feed

    I was having trouble with OneCare so i followed the reinstallation instructions. When it finished i recieved a note saying my subscription had canceled. The problem is my subscription doesn't expire until November. I can't access OneCare now.  How can i get this fixed?

  • If your subscription to OneCare shows expired in OneCare

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About...

    If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

  • Thats part of the problem; when i reinstalled it erased all onecare information on my computer. when i attempted to log into the billing it kept telling me the the user name or password was wrong. when i was finally able to log in after changing my password the website showed no recognition of my account. Everythings  screwed up.

  • That would indicate that you are not using the same LiveID that you used when you originally subscribed.

    If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

    Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed - that would the LiveID to use to activate with.

    It's kinda difficult to use the wrong id since i still have the email from when i signed up telling me what email address to use when i sign in with. I couldn't remember the password so i went through and changed it. Also i've gone through the help support link you posted and when i go into the About Windows Live OneCare it says my subscription is no longer active.

  • Use the information in the support FAQ to send an email to support. Explain the situation and they will help identify and resolve the problem. Use the option to submit a support request as a trial user.
