Compaq OEM Vista Home Premium "Not Genuine" RRS feed

    I'm using the OEM version Windows Vista Home Premium that came with this laptop about 5 months ago. It has only just, today, started reporting the licence as counterfeit, after installing and removing some new graphics drivers.

     

    When activating on the site, I get error code [0xC004C4A5]

    If you recieved this message (or something similar): "Windows has been deactivated due to a recent hardware change.  You have 3 days to reactivate Windows" then do the following:

     

     

    Reactivate by internet or telephone by clicking the start/windows button and typing in "slui.exe 4" and pressing Enter.  You will probably have to use "Activate by Telephone" which takes awhile since the automated thing infamously never works.

    It's not been deactivated, it's just not genuine any more. When I reformatted a while ago, using the OEM licence, I had to telephone to activate then as the automatic activation would not work. Will this have anything to do with it?
