Hardware Authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Dynamics CRM 2011, is there any way to authenticate users using maybe a user inputted token or hardware such as USB key or something?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards

  • The only thing I can think of that comes close to this is smart card access for Windows PC's.  Since the certificates in the smart cards unlock the machines with the cert on the chip and an attached pin number this might work for you.  Then the user is authenticated to CRM as normal as the certificate stored on the smart card maps them to an Active Directory user.  The authentication to CRM once the user is logged into the machine using the Card would then be seamless Active Directory authentication.
