Remote Access domain setup failure. Related to MS changes on 11 Nov? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I did try to search on this, but the search forum function seems to show results from the whole of MS website!

I have a WHS build which I have run all the updates on, if I hit update it says it is fully up to date.

Went to setup Remote Access.. Router has ports forwarded.

It failed to setup domain.. so hit configure again..

    Get a form..

    Set Up a Domain Name

Input my details and click next.. it validates.

Privacy Statement and Agreement.. click I accept and Next.

Quick as a flash Domain Name Setup Failed.

Windows Home Server could not open the Setup program for your chosen Domain Name provider. Only one button which is OK.

Not sure what I could possibly have done wrong, as there is nothing optional in that stream of choices.
Could this be related to the changes MS have made in live domains that caused problems for people last week?
Has it killed of new domains being setup? Or is there some issue doing this on a system with all patches installed?

Is there a log file that will help with this?
