Can I Just Use the 'Get the Self-Paced Training Kit' to prepare myself for the 70-680 Exam? RRS feed

  • Question

  • And does the book cover properly cover all the topics that will be on the exam? If not, are there any other types of material I should be looking at?

    Thanks, Isaac.

  • Having a working "lab" to work through the exercises is highly recommended.  Your chances of passing the exam by simply reading the book will be less than if you also have a computer to do the exercises on.

Theoretically, the book covers all of the topics on the exam.  But...Microsoft reserves the right to change the exam and topics at any time.

  • What do you mean by working lab?

  • Hi Isaac,

what Charles means with "working lab" is an environment (maybe a virtual machine) where you can go through the exercises with the software you need.

  • You can use software such as: VMware Server (Free), Virtual Box (Free), or even Hyper V if you install the Demo version of Windows Server 2008 with Hyper V.

Create at least one Domain Controller and two or three Windows 7 machines. The imaging portion of the certification will require some server level and peer to peer level testing.

    All the best!
