Widows 7 Updates not working.

    Question

  • I can not believe how clunky this site is!!

I have come to understand the undeniable fact that Windows is an UN-friendly mess that requires all users to be experts. I started using an old Toshiba L455D laptop that has not been opened for 3 years. (Win 7)
I did the factory re-do. All was good.
I can NOT get Windows Updates to work!!!!!!
I did need 192 updates so yes I have read that I might need to open WinUpdate and pick only a few. That seemed to work once. Looks like the 5 I checked installed fine.
I open WinUdate now and for days will stay at 0% and now will not even pop up the list so that I can check only 4 or 5.
I've even UN-installed AVAST just to make sure that was not the reason. I am now completely UN-protected because of WinUPDATE!!!
I have been downloading the" Windows Stand Alone Installer" for 45 minutes now! I can't even stop it!
I understand that my 3 year old newly factory reset PC is out of date but WOW!!!!! It should not be this hard to update it!!!!! My internet speed lets us play Netfix on 2 tv's at the same time.
If Netflix can send me 2 movies at the same time, Why can't Windows update without requiring me to be a great troubleshooting computer expert??????
I have NEVER owned an Apple product in my life but at this point I AM considering it!!!!!!!!!

I am disgusted with how hard this is. It's been a week now and windows update is one of the hardest things I've ever had to figure out. It simply dose NOT WORK!!!!

What a stupid forum layout also! WTF???? I don't even know where to post this!!

  • Hello,

The 'Academic Initiatives - Technical Queries' forum is for posts Related to technical / coding / programming related issues as related to Microsoft's Academic Initiatives.

As it's off-topic here, I am moving the question to the Where is the forum for... forum.
