Simple Serps Question.

  Hi, i have one simple question. I want to know if there is some type of "sandbox affect" applied to all sites that have been created within a certain time period? I have seen a few sites that was doing great before the update (all of them being about 6 months old now), but after the update was initiated, all the sites "pagerank" went to the defaut status of 3, and they are nowhere to be found in the serps. But they are indexed because the sites are listed if you look for them using the site: command.
