Crm 2013 Mail tracking does not work as expected RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have a virtual server windows 2012 with CRM 2013 ru 2. CRM database is located on sql 2012. All is within one domain.
    Number of CRM users ~90.
We have configured exchange 2013 synchronization with impersonation account. Application impersonation is configured only with

    New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Name “” -Role:ApplicationImpersonation -User

Mailboxes test is successful (but tasks sync test fails).
User personal settings is set to track mails sent from "Leads, contacts and accounts". In CRM we have company with type
    'Lead' and specified email address.

The problem is that a message sent to crm user from the address specified for the company is not tracked and it is true for multiple users. We have had also an issue when similar mail was tracked with the same sender as recipient. How  is this possible?

Is this configuration enough to get it working without issues? Is is possible exchange throttling is related to this issue? How this can be troubleshooted? CRM logs are quite hard for reading(perhaps some patterns to search for?)
    Thank you.

  • Update: also there is  an issue with tracking  outgoing mails sent  from Outlook(no CRM client  is  installed). Such mails are not imported  into CRM system.

In some sources  it is stated that these mails should appear  only if Track button in CRM Outlook client is used. However others state Exchange server-side sync

should  work automatically.  Our test shows it does not work automatically. Is it how it is designed?

This means for automatic mails import CRM Outlook client should be used in any case.
