  • Hello ngy_tms,

Assuming the materials you purchased were made to look like an OEM licensing kit, it would appear that you inadvertently purchased a counterfeit copy of Windows, because the installation that was put on the computer is a retail license for Windows XP Pro that used an Invalid Product Key.

If you received high-quality counterfeit materials, you may be able to send them to Microsoft for complimentary replacement.

Go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Windows button.  When Validation fails, loos for the links to apply for the Complimentary Replacement Offer.  You will be asked to submit a report and will be given a mailing address to which you send the counterfeit materials.

If you do decide to apply for the complimentary offer, please keep us posted regarding your progress :-)
