Lumia 950xl connection to PC. . M

I cannot connect my Lumia 950xl using the Windows Media app in the Portable Devices section under Device Manager as advertised. I cannot connect via File Explorer either as my PC will not identify the 950XL . It will recognise my Nokia Lumia 925 amd allow me to organise files through my PC.

The user interface on the 950XL is far inferior to the 925 . Did I make a mistake switching
