  • Question

  • There are a lot of bin and dat files all over directories involved in the pairs. Can us delete them automatically? They are made every time I do a copy. Every day, every diectory. Too much.

  • On each new Folder pair creation, a SyncToy_*.dat file is created under each folder. So if you have multiple folder pairs configured so that some folders are shared across folder pairs, there would be multiple SyncToy_*.dat  in such shared folders.

SyncToy_*.dat are required for SyncToy to perform the sync operations for that particular folder pair. If one of these are deleted, a folder pair may not sync and you may have to re-create the folder pair.

I am not where bin files are coming from. Likely they are generated by some other application which operates on one of your folders that SyncToy also uses.
