I'm a moderately experienced computer user, and I'm looking at getting started with the MCITP Certification to start a career as an IT professional. I've done some basic home things for Windows computers, such as formats, installation of the Windows OS,
and routine maintenance. Like many self-taught computer techs, I have gaps in my knowledge, and going this route would help me solidify them.
My question is more a request for advice. The first exam I looked at for starting on the MCITP path is exam 70-680, Windows 7: Configuring, but I'm a little confused as to how the exams count toward certifications. Does each exam award its own certification,
in addition to counting toward the final MCITP certification? Is this the exam I should begin on, or is there another I should take? I have no experience with server work, though I'm buying the MCTS Self-Paced training kit for exam 70-680, and visiting my
local library regularly.
I'm sorry to have to ask these questions here, but the information on MS's website is sparse and convoluted, so I was hoping people who've gone through these exams can help me get on the right track, at least to start, and help me understand the process
toward gaining the MCITP.
