SyncToy 2.0 is the latest so far.
If there's a initial sync of a folder with plenty of items, that may take time as SyncToy would look at each file and memorize it's characteristics a bit to check next time if it changed.
But subsequent syncs of the same folder pair should be quick unless:
- lot files actually change in the folders
- somehow the time stamp of lot of files change (thanks to some other software updating the time stamp even if file hasn't changed (e.g. some antivirus, or we have heard Windows Medial Player do this once in a while as well)
- the folder pair options has "Check file contents" - which tells SyncToy to check contents of each file from beginning to end before deciding whether the file has changed. If there are plenty of big files, this option may also slow down.
Do all your folder pairs sync slowly every time ?
