How Many Times Do I Need to Validate!

Question
-
Hi - I have dutifully downloaded the software to check for my "genuineness's" so many times I've lost count. Anytime I log onto the update sites, I am, again, required to download software to check my "genuine's - will it ever end? The software came bundled on my new HP Media Center. It has been thoroughly checked (presumably) from head to toe - and no "imposters" have been found. Is there some key to ending this? Should I be deleting the old downloads? Help!
