Form with images for smileys RRS feed

  • Question

  • I wish to do a chat application with smileys. How do i incorporate smileys into the application. I want to have an icon which on click will show a sub-form with images of the smileys.
the chatbox is rtf, how can the gifs. be shown in rtf.

Also, if I have a sub-form with images, the for every image Click do I have to write an event? If not how do I get the image name of the clicked image.
Is there a better approach to tackle this.

    Hi Xaria,

I think this sample can help you.
Insert Plain Text and Images into RichTextBox at Runtime
    http://www.codeproject.com/KB/edit/csexrichtextbox.aspx

In this article, it offer two solution to add image to the current text window. One is easy to use Clipboard to paste an image. The other is call API.

If you want to use the second solution, you need to import gdiplus.dll.

  • Hi Kira,

Thanks for the link. I have gone through this project earlier. It's developed in C# and I am using managed C++.
When I tried to convert the code in C++, I ran into a few errors. I was not able to debug those.

Is there another way, this could be achieved.

    Hi Xaria,

I don't know what problem you have met after you convert the sample C# to C++, I want to introduce a tool ".Net Reflector", it can disassembly all .Net assembly into .Net language. You can download it here http://www.red-gate.com/products/reflector/

After you build the C# code successfully, load that assembly and disassembly it into MC++.

If you need any detail help, please post your code and let me know it.

    Sincerely,
    Kira Qian

  • You need to start a new thread and post the question, so the engineer on that forum can focus it and try to solve it.
