Misses Call notification - Exchange 2007 without UM installed RRS feed

  • Question

We have OCS 2007 Standard with a functional Nortel CS1000 integration.

Users reports that they sometomes get a missed call notification and sometimes not.

Exhcange 2007 is up and running in the network (recently migrated from 2003) but no UM is configured (Scheduled for next year).

What is the default behaviour when it comes to missed call notification using communicator 2007 and Exchange 2007 (without UM)

  • If you haven't configured UM then you will only receive missed calls when Communicator is logged on.  Under that scenario Communicator establishes its own connection to Exchange and creates a missed call message.  If Communicator is not logged in at the time the call comes in then it is not aware of the call and therefore cannot log it.  Once you have UM up and running this takes places regardless of whether the user is logged on to Communicator at the time the call comes in.

  • ok, the problem here is that the user dont recevice a missed called notification when Communicator is up and running.

Exchange & Outlook 2007 is used, but with no UM.

In this scenario, is is Communicator that controlls the missed call notification... how do you control it turn on / off?
