  • Hello lhenry22030,

    Windows as installed on your HP dx5150 compuer is reporting as Genuine.

    Your Office is not.

    Here is a snippet of your mgadiag report:

    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Office XP Professional - 114 Blocked VLK 2
    Microsoft Publisher 2002 - 100 Genuine
    Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 - 100 Genuine
    OGA Version: Registered, 2.0.48.0
    Signed By: Microsoft
    Office Diagnostics: 025D1FF3-230-1

    The report is telling us that you have Office Professional Edition 2003 installed, and you have separate installations of Outlook 2003 and Publisher 2002.

    Regarding Office, the report says you have a Blocked VLK, which means that (a) your HP computer has a Volume Licensing edition of Office Professional Edition 2003 installed, and that (b) a Blocked Volume Licensing Key (VLK) was used to install it.  A "blocked" VLK is one that was issued by Microsoft to a business, educational institution, or governmental agency for their exclusive use in accordance with a Volume Licensing Agreement.  (Note that such use does NOT allow the resale of such VLKs.)  However, because the VLK may have been reported lost, stolen, or compromised to the internet by the original keyholder, or because the Volume Licensing Agreement has expired, Microsoft has blocked the VLK from further use.  This particular status of 114 Blocked VLK2 indicates that the product key used is a widely pirated key that ends in 3HFDY.

    Your standalone installation of Publisher 2002 is reporting as a Genuine installation of a retail licensed product, so no worries there.

    Regarding the standalone installation of Outlook 2003, this is also a Volume Licensing edition.  The report is showing it as Genuine, but this status only applies if this product is being used by someone covered by the Volume License, which as with Office above would normally be an employee of a larger business, educational, or governmental organization with a current and valid Volume Licensing Agreement for this product.  Regardless of the reported status, if the user or using organization does not have a current and valid Volume Licensing Agreement for this product, then use of this Outlook 2003 license would be a nongenuine use.

    If your use of these Volume Licensing editions of Office Professional Edition 2003 and Outlook 2003 are in association with an organization that has a Volume Licensing Agreement for these products, then please contact the IT support staff of the organization for further assistance.

    If you are an individual consumer, you should never have been sold Volume Licensing (VL) materials such as VL disc(s), and you certainly should not have received a Blocked Product Key.  You should have been sold Genuine retail licensed software.

    One other possibility is that at one time your computer did have a Genuine installation of Office and/or Outlook installed, but for some reason they were replaced with the current installations which are nongenuine.  This could have happened if you took your computer to a repair shop and they reinstalled Windows and/or some or all of your programs.  You Get Genuine once again by uninstalling the current nongenuine installations of Office and Outlook 2003 and using your Genuine Microsoft hologrammed Office installation CDs, along with the genuine Product Key found on your Office Edition's yellow-orange Proof Of License label, to put back the genuine installation of Office you may have already had on the computer.
