can't activate windows, please help me

Question
-
Help me please,
When I start the computer up, I get message that due to hardware changes (nothing has changed in the last 4 years) I have to activate Windows within 3 days. When I click yes, I get a blank Activate Windows screen which goes into not responding after a while. If I go to accessories, system tools and try to activate again same story, blank window.
I've looked in the forums and found that I had to uninstall IE7 (this thread was for xp pro, i run xp home, OEM Software), but nothing changed. Another thread told me to run msoobe.exe in the command prompt, but windows can't find it. Also I uninstalled Media player 11, mentioned in one of the threads.
I would appreciate it if somebody could help me with this or point me to the right thread, because I have to activate windows within 3 days.
Kind regards and thanks in advance for any help

Hello Marlow,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Forum. The purpose of this forum is the support of Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program. Your question is off topic as well as outside my area of knowledge. Did you start experecing this issue after you ran/installed Windows Updates? If so please submit a free support request here: https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527 .
If that was not the cause of your issue then I suggest you create a support incident with Microsoft at http://support.microsoft.com/ for the issues you are having with product activation. You may also want to consider posting your question to the Discussions in Windows XP General Forum newsgroups here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/newsgroups/reader.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.general&lang=en&cr=US
Thank you,
