Reinstalled Win 7 Pro 32-bit from scratch on laptop for my wife, getting this message 0x8007007b
Oddly, it NEVER asked me to input my key during installation...

1) This machine appears to be licensed only for Windows Vista - not Win7
2) As Carey says, you appear to have used Volume License media to install the OS - and the KMS Key currently in use requires a dedicated KMS server for activation, as it cannot activate at Microsoft's servers..
Unless you have either an Upgrade license, or a Full licnese for Windows 7 Pro, your install must be classed as counterfeit.

The installed copy of Windows 7 Professional is a Volume License version meant only for business enterprises. How did you acquire this license?
