CRM 2011 Development Environment

Question
-
Hello,
I would like to set up a development environment for CRM 2011. I would be setting up multiple organisations on the same CRM instance. What would be an ideal server setup to install CRM 2011, SQL Server 2008, Reporting Services and the email router?
Is it possible to install Reporting Services on an other machine separate from the server hosting SQL server 2008?
Thanks
Darren

Hi,
I would preffer only this option for the production server and would include a single server with good sepecifications for the development enviornment which will host CRM 2011, Reporting Servuces, CRM Reportign Services Extensions and SQL Server 2008 (to host _MSCRM database) . In CRM development enviornment usually there will not not much load on the database and reporting services so prefferable approch is to having a single server.

Hi,
For CRM 2011 server requirements you may refer to the System Requirements in the implementation guide section: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh386505.aspx and http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3621 and yes you can install the Reporting Services into other machine that is hosting SQL Server 2008, CRM Reporting Extensions require SQL Server 2008 Reporting Servcies to be installed on the same machine where you will install CRM Reporting Extensions. You may also refer: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg327981.aspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh386538.aspx

Ok just for clarification regarding reporting services, does it make sense to have the following setup?
Server 1: Windows Server 2008 R2, CRM 2011, Reporting Services, CRM Reporting Services Extension
Server 2: Windows Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008 (to host the _MSCRM database)
Thank you
Darren
