Win 10 upgrade from Home to Pro? RRS feed

    I was flipping through a couple posts.. specifically .. getting gpedit.msc working in win 10 pro home edition

    ..saw a bit of talk.. about a work-around.. through the registry..

    HOWEVER.. more often.. i've seen this post..

    As others noted, the build on the insider site installed Home Preview.  To get Pro, just open "control panel" add features to win 10 and plug in the activation from the insider site using product key 6p99n-yf42m-tpgbg-9vmjp-ykhcf -after it reboots you will have win 10 pro and you will also have gpedit.msc


    CURIOUS... - i know WIN 10 is free for the next year.. to all who currently have.. win 7, win 8 or win 8.1

    but what if i am only licensed for 7 Home.. or win 8 Home - i can see the upgrade to win 10 home being free

    ..but upgrading win 10 home to win 10 pro.. using that "6P99N-YF43M-TPGBG-9VMJP-YKHCF"  seems like a double upgrade? and is it safe to assume.. that 11.5 months from now..

    ALL who used "6P99N-YF43M-TPGBG-9VMJP-YKHCF".. will be notified that its time to BUY your license.. as.. 21,347,823 users cannot SHARE .. "6P99N-YF43M-TPGBG-9VMJP-YKHCF" product key?
