Deployment Diagnostic test fail RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a fresh install of Windows HPC Server R2.  I have setup the head node as the AD server and it is running DNS as well.  For now I am just trying to run the basic diagnostics (DNS, AD, etc.) before adding compute nodes.  But, the basic diagnostic tests fail with errors like:

Pre Step run failed due to  : Task 82.1 failed to pass validation.  Error: Node MYNODENAME specified in required/requested nodes could not be found.  Check the required/requested nodes to ensure the names are correct and try again.

This node (which is the headnode) does show up in the cluster manager, in online and looks to be fine.  Any thoughts on how to debug this?

  • Hi

Do you mean DepDNS, DepAD tests here (alias)? The message indicates that you tried to run the test on node MYNODENAME. Did you specify this node in the list? Could you try starting the test and select "Nodes in this group: HeadNodes" option and see if this still happens? Does it happen with any test or just the tests you mentioned?
