Floppy Drive RRS feed

  • Question

  •  have a case which already has a fascia built in for the floppy drive, and I need a floppy drive for it. Where can I get a floppy drive with no fascia that will fit in behind the fascia of the case, can't seem to find anything about it on the internet.
    Thanks.

  • depends...
if you are lucky, get a standard drive and remove the white fascia and it will fit.
if you are not lucky.....it won't
if it is a dell pc or a compaq, it might well not fit, given their liking for iverly expensive customised parts.

why do you need a floppy drive at all? why not just leave it out?

  • well theres a floppy drive model available from sony which doesnt have the fascia so that it could be fit behind the cabinets having floppy fascia. If u have already brought one u can remove the fascia from ur cabinet. I am damn sure it can be done.

Finally u can fix up any of the drives behind ur fascia adjusting the eject buttons one after the other. This arrangement will work good if the eject spring throws ur floppy considerably out.
