Compatibility issues w/ CRM 3.0 & Windows Server 2008 & Exchange 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

Are there any known compatibility issues w/ CRM 3.0 and Windows Server 2008 and/or Exchange 2007? I haven't seen it stated anywhere that it specifically supports Windows Server 2008 as the domain controller or that it supports Exchange 2007.

I'm hoping that I don't have to upgrade to CRM 4.0.

I cant' say for sure about Windows Server 2008 but Exchange 2007 is not supported.  For automatic e-mail tracking to work in CRM 3.0, you need to install the CRM E-mail router on an Exchange server and set up a dedicated CRM mail box.

The CRM 3.0 E-mail router will not install on Exchange 2007. However, the dedicated CRM mail box can be on an Exchange 2007 server.  This means that your Exchange organisation must have at least one Exchange 2003 server in it in order to work with CRM 3.0.

With regard to Windows Server 2008, I can't see that the domain controller part would be a problem. I would be more concerned that IIS 7.0 may lead to issues with CRM 3.0. However, it may well work - try it on a test system!

Why not upgrade to CRM 4.0?  I've done this a few times for clients and it is fairly straightforward and you'll get access to loads of new features.

  • the above reply is right. crm 3.0 doesnt supports Exchange 2007. the best scenerio is that you have MS Exchange 2003  or may be ms Exchange 2000 to make it working
