Windows Safety Scanner RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows Live OneCare program installed. Another program that keeps popping up is Windows Live OneDare Safety Scanner, which I downloaded also. Do I need both of these? What are advantages,if any, of one over the other?  Can I delete one? What exactly does safety scanner do differently from Live OneCare? Any feed back I get would really be apprecaited. Thank You

  • The main difference between the Safety Scanner and the Installed version of One Care is the Safety Scanner runs once over the internet without installing a complete program and after the scan completes does not offer any protection. The installed version of One Care protects your computer in real time. I am curious about the Safety Scanner pop ups. What do you mean by "Another program that keeps popping up is Windows Live OneDare Safety Scanner"?
