error message even though Windows is genuine RRS feed

  • I bought a laptop directly from Dell in 2003 with Windows XP preinstalled.  I have never installed this copy of Windows on any other machine -- or even reinstalled it on this one.  In my tray today I got for the first time a notice purporting to tell me that the copy of Windows is not genuine.  Please advise.

      Please try the below step and post your results:

     

    1) Click the Start button

    2) Click Run...

    3) Type wgatray.exe /b

     

    This will refresh Notification and it should then detect that your Windows is Genuine and stop displaying the reminder.

     

    I also notice that the bottom potion of your Diagnostic Report is missing. Did you edit out?

     

    The part that is missing from your report should look like this:
