Problems Installing Live OneCare RRS feed

  • What does Error ID: 0014-80072F8F mean?
    when trying to install live onecare this message came up and also unable to continue.

    The Help article indicates that the problem is caused by either an incorrect date/time on the PC or Internet Explorer settings blocking communication:


    1. In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then press ENTER.


      In Windows Vista, click Start, click in the Start Search box, type inetcpl.cpl, and then press ENTER.

    2. In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, on the Programs tab, click Reset Web Settings. When you're prompted for confirmation, click Yes, and then click OK.


      In Windows Internet Explorer 7, on the Programs tab, under Default web browser, click Make default if the option is available. If the Make default option is unavailable, Internet Explorer is already the default browser.

    3. On the Connections tab, under Local Area Network (LAN) settings, click LAN Settings.
    4. Clear the Automatically detect settings checkbox and the Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) check box.
    5. Click OK, and then click OK again.
    6. Restart your computer, and then try to install OneCare again.
