Your Key is from a not-for-resale MSDN account. You need to claim an immediate refund from the vendor - do NOT accept the offer of a new key.(all they are trying to do is to get past the 45-day claims window. or avoid you sending the evidence of their crimes to the authorities)

Please read the following stickies.... a lot of it isn't directly relevant to you, since you bought it pre-installed, but it will help in advising what to do next.

The pirates have got VERY good at this over the past few years, as the price of equipment for manufacturing the packages drops, and as factories open in less well-policed countries.

  • Thanks.  I can't believe Microsoft lets this slide, the company boldly advertises all over Google.

  • Hello JerodOH,

Your installation of Office Professional Plus 2007 is reporting as a Volume Licesning installation. Volume Licenses for Office should never be sold to individual consumers.

Did you buy your installed Office Professional Plus 2007 thinking it was a retail license for Office Professional 2007?  Did you buy this from a major retailer or did you buy it from an auction or "no-name" website?

  • @JerodOH,

If they were letting this slide people wouldn't be getting the non-genuine notifications.  Nor would there be sites like this

  • Dan,

No, this is from my work, a non-profit.  I have the use of one of their licenses.  (So long as I work for them, that is.)
