  • Hi,

we plan to use Dynamics CRM online. For now i have only My Admin Account for Testing.

My question is: Do Items from Ribbon disappear for a user in case he has no Access to this entity?

I found several articles about the requiremement of modifying the sitemap to reach this and are still in hope of beeinng able to avoid this :)

    best regards

  • Hi Loki,

You have to create a new Entity and assign Read and other Privileges to this Entity for Each Role.

I found this workaround. Please refer to below links:

  • yes, each user see different options based on the permissions to read an entity .

site map edit will hide the option on the fly out menu. They will still be available through related menus as well as advanced finds.

  • Hi Christof,

Ribbon Items are shown/hidden based on Roles Set for Each Entity. Not all the Ribbon Items can be disappeared by Roles.

Create Button for a User disappears if he has no Create Previlige.

What you want to achieve. Do you want to Hide Sitemap or Ribbon Buttons?

  • Hi Saad,

i want the ribbon not look to "full".

For Example, a Sales Rep should only see the Sales and Marketing Ribbon.

  • Hi Christof,

You can easily hide it using Sitemap customization.

Please go through the links below:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-in/library/gg309424.aspx

Use can also use Ribbon Editor Workbench to Edit Sitemap.

  • If a user has a security role where said role has the access level set to None (red empty circle) on all of the privileges for a given entity, then they will not have access to that entity.

For example, if my organization isn't going to be using the Lead entity, I would simply go into each of the security roles and click the word Lead until there were red empty circle all the way across.

    No ribbon mods needed.
