WIndows 10 restart

Question
-
Is there any way to turn off my automatic restart option on Windows 10? I understand it's there for a reason to give me upgrades when they are available, but it is my own prerogative to not want to shut down my computer whenever it wants. I was given the option to reschedule my shut down earlier this week and scheduled it to restart on Friday. It's Wednesday- it just restart without my permission or planning. I lost quite a bit of work and I am so frustrated. This is not the first time it has happened. I figured out how to do this on Windows 7 and if there is no option, I think I will revert back to that platform as this is completely unacceptable.

Hello,
I'd ask in the Windows 10 forum on Microsoft Community.
As the Microsoft Community is on a different platform, we cannot move the question for you.Once there, click on Participate near the top of the screen, and select 'Ask a Question' or 'Start a Discussion'
For what it's worth, I close everything and restart when the system wants me to schedule a reboot so that I can ensure I save my work first.
