Quote Product - How to change Security Roles

Question
-
it appears that when i look for the Quote Product entity within Security Roles its not there, so i cannot amend any of the priviledges.
is this because it inherits the Roles from another entity.
does anyone know if there is a work-around for this - i would like to remove Delete rights for certain users.
thanks in advance.

Because the quote product has no ownership, then you cannot define privileges on it, they will be inherited like you mention. You can control the privileges at the quote level. However, if you want some users to be able to delete a quote product but not a quote, then you'd have to consider some custom extensions.
If that is the case you can try hiding the delete button from the ribbon for certain users and creating a plugin as well to validate that only certain users can delete the quote. You will probably need to take a privilege that can define "certain users" and be used for the ribbon customization and the plugin.- Proposed as answer by Gonzalo Ruiz RModerator Wednesday, May 11, 2011 1:46 PM

You will not find rights to the quote product within the security role. Does removing delete rights to the Quote also remove those rights to the quote product?
