To be fair to the guy who gave that reply it could be that he has clear instructions not to support anything but Microsoft *products*.
ASP.NET is of course a *technology* developed by Microsoft but if the guy asking the question had said that he was having a problem with (say) Visual Studio xxxx then the Microsoft guy would no doubt have accepted the question even though what the guy
was doing with Visual Studio was ASP.NET stuff.
So, yes, it often depends on who is answering the question (and whether he is having a bad day) but it also depends on what exact question is being asked.
P.S. (and related only to the spam at present in this thread) I requested that the user sdfsas be banned and he was banned. The post in this thread (if still there) was thus before the ban - I've deleted all the ones *I* could, it's now up to the Moderators
