Windows 7 Deployment Didactics

  I write as one presently engaged in the configuring windows 7 preparation book.  I had been a junior systems admin years ago but never had a need for such sophisticated deployment strategies.  The virtual labs and one elearning course offer near adequate experience but not when multiple tools are indicated.  The book indicates that the audience is beginner and intermediate experience.  I now seek some authoritative reading on the big picture when DISM, WAIK, PE, etc are required in some combination.  I visit the technet library but have not seen anything that addresses this post.  Guidance sought
