Hi Drago
I already checked link you provided;
However i needed the steps to upload the .cab file to the webcomponent location;
Is it just copy-paste the file to C;\ProgFiles\MicOCSR2\WebComp\DeviceUpdateFile\DeviceUpdates ???
and configuring the ucupdate A record??

OCS:
Start OCS R2 Management Console.
Expand your “Enterprise Pool” or “Standard Edition Servers” (whichever applies) tree.
Right click on your pool or server and select “Device Updater”.
When the Device Update Service” console opens, click Tools -> Upload .cab Files
Navigate to your .cab files location, select the file and click Open.
Once the upload is complete, click the second tab “Pending Updates”
Click to highlight one or more updates and click “Approve button”
Click “Deployed Updates” tab and verify the approved updates are shown and you have uploaded the correct version.DNS:
Create DNS record “UcUpdates” and point to your frond end server or enterprise pool, whichever applies.
Create DNS record “UcUpdates-R2” and point to your frond end server or enterprise pool, whichever applies.Phone device:
Connect the device (I suggest a hard reset) and leave it alone. The phone should check for updates upon start, download the new cab files and wait for 5-8 minutes idle time to apply the update. Once applied, the phone will reboot and you should see the ne sign-in screen.Have fun.

Hi
I followed these steps but the LG-nortel phone reboots without
installing the new firmware.
How can i troubleshoot it?
ThanksMonday, June 29, 2009 1:29 PM -
I work with Polycom only. Let's hope Steve Hahn from Central Piedmont Community College will see your post and get involved.
DragoMonday, June 29, 2009 1:43 PM -
Ah. I have seen the same issue.
You troubleshoot by looking at the IIS logs on the server BTW - best place to start.
---------------
What you is when it first boots up:
1) Enter your correct SIP name
2) For domain - put in your full domain (in my case CPCC.EDU\Accountname
3) It willl reboot after a few minutes
Once it reboots, it "cancel" on the screen. Just once...if you hit it twice, it will try to dail again. :)
It should reboot after installing the update
The problem with the older builds apparently is that they start to download - but reboot before finishing the download, rinse and repeat.

Hi Steven
Thanks for your reply,
I tried your suggestion but same result; when i hit cancel it will prompt me again for signin; user name and password
it seems to me like the phone is not asking for any update?
How can i check at OCSFrontEnd if the phone is asking for updates?
the log folder is empty..

Hi Steve
Could it be that the version number existing now on the phone "1.0.522.34" could not be upgraded direct to "3.5.6907.0"
and we need an intermediate version?
ThanksTuesday, June 30, 2009 7:58 AM -
When you hit "cancel", you need to let sit - it should update and reboot on its own.
If it does NOT, then it would be having troubles getting to the files.
And yes - it should be trying to download the intermediate build.
The IIS Logs would also be useful in seeing what is happening here if you could post them.
Cheers

Hi
What happened is that i uploaded version 1.0.522.103 and the phone takes it.
However it is not taking latest version 3.5.6907.31??
And it not registering it says : "Cannot download certificate because domain is not accessible"
However before on old version it was registering normally
Any ideas??Tuesday, June 30, 2009 1:39 PM -
It looks like you are not entering your domain info correctly while logging in.
It needs to be in the form:
Sign-in Name: bob@somewhere.com
Domain\User somwhere.com\bobs_account
Cheers.

Hi
I was using same format as u said, but i noticed now that i cannot change or modify sign in address, name, pwd via Input panel
it is like stuck.
Any ideas?Tuesday, June 30, 2009 2:05 PM -
Yes - you need to reset the phone in order to modify the sign-in address. (a pinhole under the phone), but if the syntax is correct, I'd just leave it for now.
---
What I don't see the phone trying to connect at all in the logs once I looked closer.
Do you have the DNS records added:
ucupdates - a record pointing to your Pool addres
ucupdates-r2 : a record pointing to your Pool address
Cheers.
Steve HahnTuesday, June 30, 2009 3:20 PM -
i just added ucupdates-r2 : a record pointing to my Pool address
do i have to add ucupdates a record also???Tuesday, June 30, 2009 5:45 PM -
Yes....because that is what that old firmware is looking for.

Hi Steve
Just i am curious why the version that was shipped with the phone ""1.0.522.34"" was working fine
and when i installed "1.0.522.103" i got problems: which version of above two is newer??
ThanksWednesday, July 1, 2009 6:41 AM -
1.0.522.103 is the interim build...and is the newer of the two. But it is still not the latest.
If you are not getting anything in your IIS logs, then the problem is your "A" records or DNS.
Cheers.
