User does not have send-as privilege RRS feed

  • Question

  • Anyone know why I get an "User does not have send-as privilege" exception on e-mails I create with workflows?

They only occur when send from users that do not have the system administrator role (which is like most of them).

The user from which this exception occurs is SYSTEM.

I tried to give all users the SendAs privilege, but this doesn't work.

  • Have a look at this post and see if it helps.  Althought it is for CRM Online, there are points in the thread that apply to any configuration.   http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/crm/thread/9fee0bd6-2ae9-4f33-a971-0bf83bcf43de

  • I added the prvSendAsUser privilege to the role using the API.

After checking the database using this query:

    SELECT p.name
    FROM SystemUser u
    JOIN filteredSystemUserRoles sur ON sur.systemuserid = u.systemuserid
    JOIN RolePrivilegesLogical rp ON rp.roleid = sur.roleid
    JOIN FilteredPrivilege p ON p.privilegeid = rp.PrivilegeId

The user has the prvSendAsUser, yet it's still not possible to send an e-mail as that user :-/
