SyncToy ruined my DVD ISO files RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have used SyncToy for a few years now and never had an issue with it so far.  I have some DVD images saved as ISO's on my Vista machine and I do a Sync with a Windows XP machine (wireless) every few days.  Today I see the ISO images are chopped off to a third their size and their extension is changed to ".ISO_SyncToyBackup_20080927<9 digit number>"
Messed up three DVD's.  I don't know if I can trust this way of backing up again until I identify the reason.  Anyone seen this?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi -

What version of SyncToy are you using? Because in the latest version we download to temporaty locations and copy over only when we are certain the completely file has been copied over.
