Windows Update API RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I'm writing my own app to search and install updates for system and 3rd Microsoft apps by Windows Update API. On my computer I realize that script is showing me updates with are not appear in build-in Windows Update applet.

I downloaded PowerShell script from Petri site (https://www.petri.com/manage-windows-updates-with-powershell-module) and it's returning me exactly this same updates.

    Screens:

Have anyone met this situation? Is safe to install these updates?

    Best Regards

    Mateusz Blaszka

  • Hi Mateusz.

Personally, I would install only the updates having a value in the "KB" field; anyway, remember that you're using a script that is not coming from a Microsoft source, so be careful and pay attention.
If you need further information/support about that script, you could go to Petri Forums.

    Bye.
