  • Hello sauda,

    This is just one non-Microsoft person's opinion....Nope.

The page has two office products, Office 2007 Pro full retail and Office 2007 Pro OEM.

The retail offering is waaaaaay to cheap to be genuine.  I'm not up to the minute on my GBP to USD conversions, but the Office 2007 Full Retail has an MSRP of $499.99 which is about 300 GBP.  They are selling it for 80 GBP.  Too cheap to be real!

The OEM offring is much more in line with the price, but if you look at the package is says these are for use with an HP computer.  That means somewhere, people who bought an HP computer and paid for Office are missing their CDs and CoAs.  This very well could be reported sooner or later as stolen property and if so, the Product Keys will be removed from the activation and validation database and the buyers will end up wit nothing genuine.

Run the mgadiag utility and post the results for further study http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

  • The web site has absolutely no contact information, not even a telephone number.
I would not trust such an entity at all. 80% discount on a "Full Retail Office 2007 Professional"?
High unlikely the product is genuine.  Would advise not doing business from that web site!

    From the web site:

"Volume Licensing programs provide much lower prices."

That statement is a dead giveaway that the software is likely counterfeit. The web site advertises retail software, but it apparently is a counterfeit volume license version.

  • From your MGA Report:

    Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK
Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 - 108 Invalid VLK

This indicates your installed copy of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is counterfeit.  It is a Volume License copy
with a counterfeit Volume License Product key.

Contact the seller and demand a 100% refund.

  • Thanks so much for your help Carey and have sent a note to the seller demanding a refund. Guess there's 1 mug everyday and should have realised they were so much cheaper than everyone else.

Great site for help and advice - much appreciated

  • Hi Dan / Carey

Thanks for your comments and out of interest, I just ran the mgadiag utility as you suggested and this is what it came up with. For the record, hugely disappointed that I've been so gullible if that's the case...

  • Hi sauda,

Sorry you got nipped by this offering of nongenuine software!

Hopefully you paid via a means that can offer some buyer protection? :-)
