Question about the Repair process RRS feed

  • I am getting some wierd javascript errors on my implementation, and some operations like Save & New never complete.  I think that I should run a repair operation; will I need to reinstall the rollups we currently have implemented?

    Will a repair operation undo any of our configuration settings, like IFD & Claims Based setup?  Are there any other potential snags I should be prepared for?

  • Hi,

    Repairing a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server installation reinstalls the program files. It has no effect on the databases, all the cusotmizations and IFD configuraiton information are stored into the database. Rollups updates program files including the dll libraries etc. After performing the repair you can verify the CRM files version (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946594) and you have to reinstall the Update Rollup on CRM server.

    I would suggest you to try reinstalling the latest rollup version, it may fix the issues and before proceeding with repairing make sure to take complete MSCRM_CONFIG and OrganizationName_MSCRM databases backup.
