Here is the explanation from the Live One Care Team regarding the " Can't save back up settings" issue.
I was waiting for a reply from one of my colleagues who works closely with the Windows Live OneCare 2.0 Beta Development Team and received it this morning with information in regards to the issue at hand. He confirmed that they are still seeing issues with the “Save One Care Backup settings” feature and that it is a classified currently as a BUG in the current Beta. He mentioned that this will be addressed in the next Beta update (this is not necessarily the next build) which will be released in a few weeks. He also mentioned that there was no workaround or troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue under existing Beta version.
At this point we will have to wait for the new build of the beta to be released This will be pushed as are the current builds (thing of it as a major build update). Hopefully this will resolve the current issue that you are experiencing on you installation of the Windows Live OneCare 2.0 Beta.
